How could I start my Journey with Roocroft?
Typical training pattern/ requirements to start as a Road Barrier Operative:
New Trainee starter
Requires a Safety Critical Medical. Then completes a variety of entry courses - CPD courses, Manual handling, Fire safety awareness, COSHH, Abrasive wheels, Noise awareness, Work Equipment awareness and Environmental awareness in a construction environment.
Training is then, as follows:
- Basic Green CSCS FISS labourer card. To achieve this, you require a CITB site safety plus or Lantra level 1 Health and safety in a construction environment. These are both 1-day courses completed either online or classroom. You then need to go to a test centre to complete the CITB H&S for operative’s touch screen test.
- Blue CSCS FISS Skilled worker card. This can be done either by the apprenticeship route or NVQ level 2 diploma in work-based fencing, CITB H&S for operative’s touch screen test. Following on from this would be the VRS foundation and installer training and NPSBS, Cat and Genny course.
You may want to progress and do:
- Gold CSCS FISS Supervisor card, NVQ level 3 diploma in work-based fencing, CITB SSSTS Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme and CITB H&S SPEC-SUP touch screen test, First aid at work course, Cat and Genny Course
- Black CSCS FISS Manager card, Level 5 Diploma in principles of leadership and management in land-based settings, CITB SMSTS Site Management Safety Training Scheme, CITB H&S MAP touch screen test.
We also recruit:
- HGV Drivers, either Allmi or CPCS lorry loader categories and Slinger signaller
- Plant Operators, NPORS-CSCS or CPCS Excavator NVQ’s
- Forklift and Plant and Vehicle Marshallers, Cat and Genny either Street works or EUSR, additional VRS VETEX, Brifen Wire, H&S Guard rail and Mega rail, Orteco, post driver.
