JobOppO House Rules

JobOppO House provides a safe and trusted platform for veterans to help themselves and to help others in all matters regarding employability and employment.

1. Only post content that is relevant to veteran or service leaver employability or employment. We have designed JobOppO House so there are general groups (The Hall, NAAFI Break, Employability, Employment) or more specific groups (Sectors) to help or be helped. Please try to keep it on the right net!
2. No promotion of services or spam. These, and irrelevant links, are not permitted in JobOppO House! When you add content, and if it’s not immediately clear, please add some information to your post so your OppOs can read and understand.
3. No hate speech, nastiness, bullying or other unacceptable nonsense. Talk to your OppOs in JobOppO House like you would talk to your Mum, and we’ll all be fine. Tone (and banter) can be misconstrued so please be mindful of that. If you’re not sure where the line is, we’ll soon tell you.
4. Be kind and courteous. Our community is naturally empathetic and supportive, and generally pretty tight, so please help us create a welcoming environment by treating everyone with respect.
5. Respect privacy as being part of JobOppO House requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussion makes the community work for us all, but may also need to be sensitive and private. Please don’t forget JobOppO House has a chat/DM function also.
6. It’s not about Recruitment, it’s about Employment. Please do not use JobOppO House to solicit business or promote opportunities outside of JobOppO.
7. We are keen for our Oppo's to help other OppOs and raising awareness of available jobs is part of that. Putting up links to Job advertisements through a recruitment agency is not in the spirit of the House.

And what if?

If one of the JobOppO House admins notices a misdemeanour that contravenes one of the above, we’ll issue a Green Card – privately. If it happens again, it’ll become a Yellow Card which will lead to a month in the ‘sin-bin’ where profiles can be locked out. In the unlikely event we need to brandish a Red Card, the offender will be removed from JobOppO House, banned, and fed to the wolves.
