About Us

At Schroders Personal Wealth, we understand how tough the transition from military life to civvy street can be. This is why we’re committed to supporting those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families.

In recognition of this commitment, we were awarded Armed Forces Covenant silver status in June 2022 and hope to be gold status accredited by the end of 2024.

It’s important that you don’t underestimate the value of the skills and experiences you already possess. As a veteran, your career path may look different to others, but we value what you could bring to our business.

We are a veteran friendly company with big ambitions backed by 400 years’ experience. Schroders Personal Wealth is a joint venture between Lloyds Banking Group and Schroders – two of the UK’s largest names in banking and asset management.

We were created to help more people across the UK benefit from financial advice. We have the advantage of solid foundations and a strong heritage. But we take a fresh, transparent and personal approach to financial planning.

We aim to provide clients with clarity and transparency in everything we do. This includes using technology to explain how long-term financial planning can add value to people’s lives, to give people access to information about their financial wellbeing, and to communicate with their adviser when it’s convenient for the client.

Our heritage may be 400 years old, but our approach is built for the future.

Good Business Charter

We are a Responsible Business which means that we have a responsibility to our colleagues, clients, communities and wider society.

We are proud to be a member of the Good Business Charter, an accreditation in recognition of responsible business practices and something we are extremely proud of. It reflects the business standards that are important to us and that we are genuinely passionate about.

In order to join the Good Business Charter, we have committed to complying to 10 key components. These actions include paying a fair living wage, treating our colleagues with dignity and respect, mitigating our impact on the environment, making a clear and transparent commitment to our clients, responsibly sourcing our supplies and paying our fair share of taxes.

We Change Lives

Making a real difference

As a forces friendly employer, we support four charities by raising awareness and funds whenever we can.

Our values

Whether you want to train to be a financial adviser, or you’re looking for an opportunity in one of our central support teams, your future career could be at Schroders Personal Wealth.

We advocate for change and want to improve the way great financial advice is offered. We aim to do this by making it more affordable, more accessible, and more powerful for more people.

To help us achieve this we have created a culture that is right for our colleagues, one that they feel proud of and motivated by.

We put our clients first

We consistently ensure that every action we take benefits our clients; putting them first to provide the best possible experience. We challenge ourselves to think differently and are always seeking to improve by finding new ways to help our clients.

We are responsible

We each take accountability to get it right. Every single day. We are crystal clear on our responsibilities as individuals and as a team and work together to provide full and complete confidence in our delivery for the benefit of our clients.

We collaborate

We work together to help our clients and colleagues achieve their goals. We seek out opportunities to assist our colleagues and share our knowledge. We are open to accepting advice and support from others to benefit our shared goals.

We change

We seek new ways to grow and develop our personal capabilities and know we will be supported. We consistently adapt and find new ways of working brilliantly together, being open to new ideas and welcoming challenge.

Our Armed Forces Network

Our Armed Forces Network exists to empower colleagues to take an active and positive approach to help shape the future to come in SPW, taking an active role in becoming a forces friendly employer and champion of forces personnel and their families.

We seek to make Schroders Personal Wealth a truly inclusive workplace by:

  • Providing opportunities for colleagues to connect and share experiences.
  • Making SPW a great place to come an work for veterans, reservists or forces family members.
  • Celebrating diversity of your group and across SPW.
  • Empowering diverse employees to be themselves by providing access to visible role models who will inspire others.
  • Positively make a contribution to support charities and work on projects within SPW.
  • Providing a voice for Network members to help educate everyone in our business to be better informed on the specific Network topics by understanding the experience and ideas of a diverse range of colleagues.

“As a reservist, Schroders Personal Wealth made it clear from the moment I joined that I would be supported in my secondary career. The ten days additional annual leave to commit to training means I am able to confidently commit to my ongoing development as a reservist, and my line manager is very flexible when it comes to accommodating my additional commitments day to day. This has helped me greatly in preserving a healthy work life balance, while maximising my potential in both my full time and reservist roles, and I am very grateful for it.”

You belong with us

Diversity

At Schroders Personal Wealth, diversity and inclusion are integral to our culture and we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for all our colleagues. We believe that our workforce should reflect the vast diversity of the communities we serve, and that diverse voices should be elevated and intentionally integrated across all levels at SPW.

We embrace individuality and encourage diversity of identity, experience, and thought. We actively strive for inclusive behaviours and actions across our company and our work, including making appropriate adjustments for impairments and medical conditions to ensure equal opportunities for all.

By promoting these values, we are committed to creating a positive work experience by encouraging a sense of belonging where everyone, irrespective of difference and background, can make an impact and reach their potential and together we will change lives.

Wellbeing

We prioritise a wellbeing culture for colleagues to thrive and create a sense of belonging at work and we encourage speaking openly about mental health to dispel the stigma and break barriers to understanding.

We are committed to having clear, fair and transparent policies that support and encourage employee well-being and recognise that the whole well-being of our colleagues really matters. We provide this through our strategic focus on four pillars of Physical, Mental, Financial and Social wellbeing and provide access to benefits and partnerships such as EAP, Workplace Adjustments, Occupational Health & BUPA.

We encourage and empower a proactive, colleague led approach to wellness, support, interventions and training with role models across all levels of the organisation.

Gender pay gap

Our vision is for all colleagues, whatever their role or circumstance, to have the resources and flexibility they need to achieve what’s important to them, both inside and outside work.

We are committed to doing more to ensure all colleagues have equal opportunities, for example, through promoting agile working, supporting career progression of those with high potential, and being certain our recruitment process leaves no room for bias. Measuring and addressing the gender pay gap plays a huge part.

The gender pay gap is the measure of the difference in average pay between all men and all women across an organisation, expressed as a percentage. It is regardless of their role, seniority, length of service or location and any other differentiating factors. It helps us to identify what is working as well as addressing where more action is needed to support and empower women as we grow our business. This is our first Gender Pay Report as a business, and we are committed to monitoring the numbers closely over the coming years, and doing more to improve gender diversity.
