On the 11th June 2022 an RAF Veteran Dominic O’Sullivan will set off on a 12 day solo ride to cover a mammoth 2280 miles around the UK, in aid of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the charity that supports bereaved British Forces children and the OppO Foundation.

Having served for 15 years as a Physical Training Instructor, O’Sullivan, who only took up cycling in 2017 after ending his rugby career at the age of 50, was due to enter the Race Across Europe before Covid hit, but as with so many events have, for the 3rd time been cancelled, forcing O’Sullivan to find a ‘crazy’ challenge that would act as a suitable replacement. With so much uncertainty due to Covid restrictions, he has set his sights on a UK based challenge, by no means easier with the weather and road surfaces creating a different challenge to the slick European roads and milder climate!

Dominic O'Sullivan will be supported by a team of Veterans and Geraint Rowland, a colleague from the lead sponsors JobOppO, the Veteran Employment Community.

In selecting Veterans for the support crew, Dominic said “There is an inherent trust between Veterans and their ability to get the job done, whatever it takes, is without question why I feel confident that they are with me on this challenge. I implicitly trust them to work as a team and help me achieve this goal, as well as display all the skills and traits that make Veterans a great asset for any Employer”.

“I am grateful for the support of the numerous sponsors, who have allowed me to plan the challenge - three times - and leave no stone unturned in preparation. It really is a team effort”.
