About The Aspinall Foundation

The Aspinall Foundation, a world-class animal conservation charity, dedicated to protecting endangered animals around the globe, was founded in 1984.

Now, over 30 years on our mission remains the same.

We are more dedicated than ever to returning as many captive bred animals as possible to protected wilderness areas and reserves located throughout the world.

Our two-award winning wild animal parks, Howletts near Canterbury and Port Lympne, near Ashford, work closely with The Aspinall Foundation and as such, are very different from conventional zoos.

Our parks lead the way in animal care, enclosure design, enrichment and breeding success and are designed to be breeding sanctuaries for some of the world’s most rare and endangered animals.

With the help of park visitors we are able to provide the care, nurture and release of these incredible animals.

For an unforgettable trip, try the Keeper for a Day experience, and in the afternoon, relax in the restaurant with a view of the freely roaming animals. Turn your visit into a short break by discovering Port Lympne's authentic safari accommodation options.

The Aspinall Foundation is an internationally renowned animal conservation charity who are world leaders in the breeding and protection of endangered animals.

Home to the largest herd of African Elephants in the UK, Howletts Wild Animal Park is one of Aspinall's award winning parks committed to the conservation, breeding and reintroduction of rare and endangered animals.
