Job Description


An exciting opportunity has arisen within the International team for an Operations Manager to lead the International Business Support team based in various European locations. Reporting to the International Business Support Director, the Operations Manager will lead the IBS Operations team to provide underpinning financial, administrative & operational support to international service contracts, and will also act as the Partner Manager for International Partners within the EMEA region. Base location is not critical, although Hatfield/Blackfriars are preferred. The ability and willingness to travel in Europe is a requirement of this role.

Day to day, that means working side-by-side with our country teams in UK, France, Germany, Hungary and Spain ensuring that you fully understand the varying in-country requirements as well as standardising activities across the group. You will be required to collaborate with and travel between UK, France, Hungary and Germany so a second language is desirable although not essential.


Contract Type: Full Time

Working Hours: 9:00 - 17:30

Main Responsibilities

Working closely with your country & group counterparts you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide leadership, development and coaching of the International Business Support Operations team to ensure the delivery of the function and business targets
  • Enable joint activities across countries to ensure best practice sharing that drives the achievement of consistent standards and quality of work across the function.
  • Drive Continual improvement, standardization and documentation of the group processes, tools and templates used by the team
  • Provide in life management (relationship, delivery and commercial management) of International Partners within the EMEA Region
  • Select, recruit & on-board new partners in the EMEA region as required by business demand
  • Provide support to the International Business Support Director in creating strategies to be adopted by the Business Support Team

Financial Management

  • Driving initiatives to ensure best practice sharing and joint activities across countries
  • Work closely with the business to make recommendations for and to improve new service take on
  • Responsible for team cost management and performance in each country

People Management

  • Work with your 3 direct reports, Team Leaders and their wider teams to ensure that all activities are documented, understood and operationally effective
  • Provide all staff with templates and clear guidelines on how to improve and facilitate their day to day activities and work stack
  • Ensure continuous personal development for all team members including training, individual coaching and best practice sharing

Operational Efficiency

  • Drive and deliver quality of output to ensure consistency with detailed expectations of standards and quality of work across the department
  • Engage with central business functions to ensure that company resources are best utilised and not duplicated when delivering services
  • Review and update the service portfolio for the team as well as evaluating where efficiency can be increased and improved

Post-Sales Engagement

Act as a second escalation point for any sales, customer or partner queries
